Bee Crafty Thursday DT post - BEAUtanicals sample for Ally Pally

Hi bloggers, it's Thursday so that means it's my turn to share another DT project for Bee Crafty on the Buzzy Goings On At Bee Crafty blog with you all.  Last week I showed you the first sample I made for the BEAUtanicals new launch show at Ally Pally, and this week I have decided to show another of my favourites.  These stamps are absolutely stunning, and make such an impact on a card.

What you will need to make this card -
What to do -
  • Cut a square of black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and a square of white slightly smaller than this.
  • Take the white square, and using masking tape mask off a section.
  • Using a blending tool, blend the various DIs from top to bottom starting with the lightest down to the darkest.
  • Next using Versafine ink, stamp the large BEAUtanical on the blended section.
  • Stamp the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner, and use the DIs to colour in the letters of FLOWER.
  • Mat the white square on to the black, and adhere both to the card blank using glue.
That's me finished for this weeks Bee Crafty DT post.  As always if you have any comments then do get in touch.

Until next time

Thursday Bee Crafty DT post - One of my Ally Pally samples

Hi everyone, for this weeks blog post at Buzzy Goings On at Bee Crafty I'm going to show you one of the first cards I made using the new stamps brought out by Bee Crafty for their recent Hochanda show at Ally Pally.  This was my first time making samples for them as a member of their DT and I was so nervous.  I decided to just stick with my usual style of crafting and came up with this.

What you need to make this card -
What to do -
  • Cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the card blank and using the blending tool,  blend some Wilted Violet DI around the edges.
  • Cut another piece of white card slightly smaller again, and using Wilted Violet DI, stamp flower heads randomly over the entire piece - ensuring you go off the edges to give a balanced look.  Mat this to the piece of card above, and adhere to the card blank using glue.
  • On a spare piece of white card, use DI again to stamp another flower head.  Cut this out.
  • Cut a piece of card the same length as the stamped piece, and approx 1" wide.  Take the Never Regret stamp and ink up only the word Smile with DI, and stamp this .  Blend DI around the edges and adhere to the card using foam pads.
  • Finish off by adding the cut out flower head to the sentiment strip using glue, and applying some Stickles to the petals.
So that's my first ever Bee Crafty DT sample completed, and I hope it was ok!  I'll share another one of my samples next week.

If you have any questions or comments then please do get in touch as I'd love to hear from you.

Thursday Bee Crafty DT Post - Life Is A Canvas

Hi bloggers, I'm back with my regular Thursday DT post for Bee Crafty.  I hope you've all had a good week?  It's the Easter holidays up here in Scotland so the boys are having a great time out playing with their friends...which gives Mummy time to do the housework (or craft!! ;-))

For this weeks card I decided to use my Dylusions paints, and the fabulous Life Is A Canvas stamp...what a brilliant sentiment.

Below is a photo of the card.

What you will need to make the card -

What you need to do -

  • Cut 2 pieces of white card, one slightly smaller than card blank, and one slightly smaller again.
  • Take the largest of the cut white card, and using a baby wipe rub some Calypso Teal around the edges of the card.  Seat aside to dry.
  • Take the other piece of white card and using a baby wipe apply some Black Marble over the entire card, set aside to dry (this only takes a few minutes).
  • Take the empty toilet roll tube, and using scissors, cut it into 3 sections.
  • Once the black card is dry, take one of the cut tube sections, and dip it in Lemon Zest and randomly stamp over - remember to go off the side of the card.  Repeat this with Bubblegum Pink, Tangerine Dream, and Calypso Teal.  Don't be afraid to overlay the stamping.
  • Once dry, mat this onto the Teal edged card, and adhere both to the card blank using glue.
  • On a spare piece of white card, stamp the sentiment using Versafine Ink, and when dry cut into 3 sections.
  • Cut 3 pieces of white card slightly larger than the stamped sentiments, and colour each with a different Dylusions Paint.  When dry, mat the sentiment on to them.
  • Attch the sentiment to the card using foam pads.
That's it for this week's project, if you have any questions or comments then please do let me know.

Take care, and happy crafting!

My 1st DT post for Bee Crafty

Hi everyone, as I'm one of the new Bee Crafty DT members I will be doing a regular post on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog every Thursday, and I hope you'll drop by and let me know what you think.

For my first post I decided to make the card below as these were 2 of the first stamps I purchased from the fabulous Bee Crafty, and what got me hooked :-)

What you will need to make this card -

What to do -

  • Cut Black & white cardstock to the following measurements ( 2 black squares at 6 1/8" x 6 1/8" and 5 7/8" x 5 7/8", and 2 white squares at 6" x 6" and 5 6/8" x 5 6/8")
  • Take the largest of the white squares and blend Peacock Feathers around all the edges.  Mat this on to the largest black square, and glue both to the card blank.
  • Take the other white square and add a strip of masking tape down the middle.  Take Salty Ocean DI and blend from the bottom to just below halfway.  Next blend some Peacock Feathers from the top down, and blend both colours where they meet.  Remove the masking tape.
  • Using Versafine ink, stamp the dandelion at the bottom of the inked section.
  • Spritz some water on to your fingertips, and flick it over the inked side of the card. Leave for a few seconds, then blot with kitchen paper.  This will give the splattered detail as shown below.

  • Stamp the sentiment in the top right corner of the card, again using Versafine Ink.
  • Mat this onto the remaining black square, and adhere to the card using foam pads.
Well that's it for this post, I'd love to hear what you think so please do leave me a comment.

Happy crafting!

For The Love Of Stamps DT Samples - Shake it baby!

Hi Bloggers....I had the opportunity to get to play with the free stamps and papers supplied with the latest issue of the For The Love Of Stamps magazine by Hunkydory.  These stamps and papers are fabulous!!!!  The colours and images on the papers are stunning, and a perfect match for the stamps. They are also the perfect accompaniment for the Rock'n'Roll stamps also launched this March.

The above card is a 6"x6".  I choose some papers and used them to create the background.  I used Onyx Black Versafine ink to stamp two large milkshakes and masked off the top using masking sheets, then stamped extra toppings and straws.  Distress inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Candied Apple, Walnut Stain, and Salty Ocean) were used to colour in the milkshakes, then I cut them out, and used foam pads to attach them to the centre of the card.  I finished off by adding a stamped sentiment.

If you decide to buy the latest magazine I don't think you'll be disappointed with the stamps and papers, and I know I will definitely be making some more cards using them.

Thanks for taking the time to read this latest blog post, and as always, if you have any questions then please do comment.

Be back soon with some more of my makes.

Hugs, Lorre-Anne x

For The Love Of Stamps DT Samples - Pretty Princesses

Hi everyone, these are my final samples made with the stamps from the latest For The Love Of Stamps by Hunkydory launch... this time I have used the Pretty Princesses stamps set and masks. Any little princess is bound to love these cute stamps, and they will make some very special cards.

First up is this 6"x4" card.  I cut black card slightly smaller than the blank, and white card slightly smaller than this.  Taking the white card, I used Versafine ink to randomly stamp frogs, then used Shabby Shutters DI to stamp some ivy and 'sent with love' all over.  I took a water brush and blended some of the ink around the ivy.  I used some Twisted Citron DI to colour in the frogs, and Wild Honey for his crown.  Next I stamped the princess and another frog on white card, coloured in, and cut both out.  I cut a strip of white card the same size as my background and approximately 1" wide, and stamped a sentiment towards the right hand side.  I attached the princess and frog using foam pads, and finished off by adding some Star Dust Sickles to the crowns, and Princess' dress and wand.

The card above is a 5"x5", and I decided to create a scene using the stamps this time.  I started by stamping the horse, and princess, then masked them off before stamping the castle.  I then masked the castle off, and used a blending tool to blend Shabby Shutters DI around the bottom of the card, and Salty Ocean around the top.  I removed the masking paper, and coloured in the castle, horse and Princess using my Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain and Bundled Sage).  I matted this on to some silver mirror card, and adhered this to the card blank using glue.  I finished off by adding a sentiment, and some Star Dust and Raspberry Tart Stickles.

The next card I made was this 6"x6".  I cut some pink stripey paper from the Splendid Stripes paper pad, slightly smaller than the card blank, and adhered using glue.  I cut a square of white card slightly smaller than this, and using Spun Sugar DI, blended ink over the entire card.  I next took the mask and blended more Spun Sugar through certain sections, giving a very subtle look to my background.  I adhered this to the card blank.  Next I cut a smaller square of stripey paper, and white card slightly smaller than this.  On the white card, I used Versafine ink to stamp the Princess, then masked her off, before stamping the carriage behind her.  I coloured the image in using my Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Salty Ocean, and Pumice Stone), and matted this onto the striped paper, and adhered this to the centre of the card using foam pads.  The sentiment was stamped on to white card, cut out, and matted onto more striped paper, and using foam pads was attached to the bottom of the card.  I finished off by tying some hot pink organza ribbon around the top of the card, and added some Star Dust and Raspberry Tart Stickles to the carriage, Princess and sentiment.

That's my samples finished for this launch, and I hope you've enjoyed seeing them.

Please do leave me a comment letting me know what you think.

Take Care,
Hugs, Lorre-Anne x

For The Love Of Stamps DT Samples - Rock n roll

Hi everyone, back with my next set of samples made using the stamps from the For The Love Of Stamps launch by Hunkydory.  These were made using the Rock'n'Roll set of stamps and corresponding mask.  This is going to be such a useful set of stamps for all those music lovers in your life..or some of the golden oldies ;-)

This card is a 7"x7".  I cut some black paper (Monochrome Paper Pad) slightly smaller than the card blank, and cut some white card slightly smaller than this.  I used Onyx Black Versafine to randomly stamp records, music notes and milkshakes over the entire white card, then coloured in using my Chameleon pens (BL3, RD4, YL2, YG3, and BK4), I then used glue to adhere this onto the black paper.  I cut a strip of card the same length as my background card and approximately 1.5", and using Versafine, stamped a sentiment and some music notes.  This was adhered to a black piece of paper slightly larger in size, and adhered to just below the centre of the card using foam pads.  I stamped the jukebox onto spare cardstock, coloured it in again with my Chameleon pens, and cut out.  To finish I used foam pads to stick this to the card.

I decided to make a DL card this time round, and this was a nice simple card to make!  I cut some black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and some red spotty paper from the Polka Dot paper pad.  I stamped a sentiment on to some white card, cut it out, and matted this on to some red, then black card.  I cut a rectangle of white card approximately 3"x4", and using Versafine ink, stamped the jukebox in the centre.  This was matted on to red and black card.  I coloured in the jukebox using Distress Inks (Black Soot, Candied Apple & Old Paper) and Brushed Pewter Distress Mica spray.  This panel, and the sentiment,  was adhered to the card using foam pads.  I finished off by adding some Glossy Accents to parts of the jukebox, and tying some black organza ribbon around the card.

A 6"x6" card.  I cut some black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and a piece of white card slightly smaller than this.  I blended Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry all over the white card, then I took the mask, and blended Peacock Feathers around the outside of the card, and through the lightning bolts.  I used Picked Raspberry to blend through the music notes.  I stamped the jukebox onto spare white cardstock, coloured in using the DIs, cut out and matted onto some black cardstock.  This was adhered using foam pads to the centre of the card, as was a stamped sentiment.  I finished off the card by tying some black organza ribbon around the side of the card.

That's my Rock'n'Roll samples completed..hope you liked them!  Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my blog, please leave me a comment letting me know what you thought.

Until next time....Byeeee!

For The Love Of Stamps DT Samples - Jam-Packed With Love

Hi bloggers it's time for the latest launch of stamps and masks from For The Love Of Stamps by Hunkydory (Launch 8).  One of the sets I received this time was the fabulous Jam-Packed with Love...now this isn't normally my type of stamp set, but I am completely converted!  This set, and the corresponding mask, are amazing and make some really cute cards.

First up is this 6"x4" card.  I cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller than this.  I blended Seedless Preserves Distress Ink all over the white card, then taking the mask, I blended more through the runny jam section towards the top of my card, and then blended more through the blackberry sections - randomly over the card .  I added Glossy Accents to the entire section of runny jam, and let it dry.  I matted this on to the black card, and adhered this to the card blank with glue.  On white card I stamped the jam jar using Onyx Black Versafine ink, and masked it off so that I could then stamp the jar full of berries (this was done by also masking off the berries before stamping another set).  I also took a small piece of purple striped paper from the Splendid Stripes paper pad, and using Versafine, stamped the lid of the jam jar - I cut this out and paper pieced it onto the original jam jar.  Using foam pads, I stuck the jar to the centre of my blended background.  I finished off my card by stamping a sentiment and spoon (coloured in using Pumice Stone DI), cut both out, and added to the jam jar with foam pads.

This is another 6"x4" card, but it has been cut down from a 6"x6" .  The background was created by splashing Distress ink mixed with water randomly over the entire card front - DIs used were Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Ripe Persimmon.  I cut a strip of white card the same length as my card blank, and approx 1.5" wide, and blended Seedless Preserves DI around all the edges.  This was then glued to the centre of the card blank.  Using Onyx Black Versafine I stamped 3 small jam jars, and stamped a different sentiment on each.  I used the DIs to colour in each jar, and used Squeezed Lemonade to colour the labels.  Foam pads were used to attach the jars to the card, and it was finished off by adding a stamped sentiment in the bottom corner.

The above card is a 6"x6".  I cut red paper slightly smaller than the card blank, and green striped paper slightly smaller than this (both from the Splendid Stripes Paper Pad), and adhered to the card blank using wet glue.  I cut 2 ovals, one white and one from green paper, and matted white onto green with glue.  The jam jar was stamped using Versafine ink, and masked off, then I stamped strawberries inside the jar, again masking off certain ones before stamping more.  I used my Chameleon pens (RD4 & YG3) to colour in the strawberries.  I paper pieced the lid of the jar by stamping the top of the jar onto the red striped paper, and cut this out, and glued to the jar.  This was finished off by tying a piece of twine around the top, and attaching the stamped label.  The card was finished off by adding a stamped sentiment, and some red pearls.

Thanks for taking the time to have a read of my blog, and if you want to let me know what you think of my cards, then please do leave me a comment....I love to hear from you.

Take care
Hugs, Lorre-Anne x
