Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Distress Oxide Butterfly

Hi everyone it's Monday so that means I'm up again on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog to share another Bee Crafty DT project.  This week I am having another play with my Distress Oxides.

What you need to make this card

What to do -
  • Take the card blank and cut it to 4" to give a tent fold card.
  • Cut black card slightly smaller and white card smaller again.
  • Place the inkables template over the white card and run through a die cutting machine to emboss the pattern.
  • Use blending foam to add some Distress Oxides to the card, and flick some water droplets on to this.  When dry, mat on to the black card and glue to the card blank.
  • Stamp the large butterfly using Versafine ink and colour in with Oxides and a water brush, cut out and glue to the card (only add glue to the centre of the butterfly so you can raise the wings to give some dimension to your card).
  • Stamp a sentiment using Versafine ink, cut out and mat on to black card.  Attach to the card using foam pads.
I'll be back next Monday with another project for you, thank you so much for dropping by.

Imagine Design Create DT post - playing with the new stencils

Hi everyone, the fab news is Imagine Design Create have brought out their own range of stencils...and they're amazing!  I got a chance to play with some of them this week, and for my blog post this week I'm sharing a couple of cards I made.

What you will need

I inked through the circle and stripes using distress ink, and highlighted sections of the circles using a white gel pen.  I matted this on to black card, and glued this to the card blank.  I finished off by adding a stamped sentiment to the centre with foam pads.

I inked through one of the circle stencils using Twisted Citron, and through the smaller circles using Picked Raspberry.  I tied a piece of pink ribbon around the side of the card, and then matted this on to a pink edged card, then a green edged card before gluing to the card blank.  I finished by stamping a sentiment in the bottom circle using Versafine ink.

I hope you like my designs using the new range of stencils, pop on over to the Imagine Design Create blog to see some more fab projects my team mates have made.

Hochanda samples for Bee Crafty

Hi everyone, for this weeks Bee Crafty blog post I'm sharing the samples I made for Sam's recent shows on Hochanda.

Materials -

I cut white card slightly smaller than the card blank, and blended a circle of Squeezed Lemonade DI in the centre of the card.  I then used Versafine ink to stamp the moon on this yellow circle, masked it off then carefully blended Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord distress inks all over the rest of the card - heavier at the edges and lighter towards the centre.  I then used Versafine to stamp some wildflowers along the bottom, then blended Black Soot DI around the edges of the card.  I finished by adding some ticker tape sentiments, and some white gesso paint flicks.

I cut various mats and layers from white and black card stock.  I took the smallest white square and blended Candied Apple Distress Oxide through the heart easy frame, I then flicked water droplets on this and dabbed with some kitchen roll.  I placed the inkable heart over, then flicked some Black Soot Distress Oxide over the card.  I finished by adding some faux stitching with a black pen, some ticker tape sentiments and a few butterflies.  I matted and layered and glued to the card blank.

I cut various mats and layers from white and coloured card.  On the smallest white square I blended some Spiced Marmalade through the maple leaf, I then placed the actual leaf over the blended leaf and blended some Vintage Photo around the edges... this gave the 3D effect seen above.  I stamped a bird using Vintage Photo, used a water brush to add some colour, and added a few ticker tape sentiments.  I finished by adding some gems, matted and layered and glued to the card blank.

I masked off an area of the card and blended some Salty Ocean and Twisted Citron in it, I kept the masking tape in place and then using Versafine ink to stamp the wildflowers.  I carefully removed the masking tape, added a few stamped butterflies and a ticker tape sentiment.  I finished by adding some gems, before matting to some black card and attaching to the card blank.

I cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.  On the white square of card I blended some Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord through the circle easy frame.  Keeping the circle template in place, I used Versafine ink to stamp the wildflowers.  I finished by adding some ticker tape sentiments and a few gems before matting to the black card, and attaching to the card blank.

I cut brown card slightly smaller than the card, and white card slightly smaller again.  I used a scoreboard to score lines across the white card, then blended some Vintage Photo around the edges before matting it to the brown card and gluing to the card blank. On spare white card I blended various colours of Distress Ink through the maple leaf template, and cut each leaf out.  I arranged these around the card, and finished by adding a sentiment and some stamped butterflies.

I really enjoyed playing with these stamps, and I hope you like what I designed using them.  Please pop over to the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog and you can see the fabulous creations my team mates have came up with.  I'll be back next week to share another project with you all.

Imagine Design Create DT Post - I don't need to get a life

Hi everyone, for my post on the Imagine Design Create blog this week I have used the Retro Gamer stamp set, and decided to stick with only one main colour plus black for this card.

What you need

What to do
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Use Lucky Clover to stamp aliens over the entire piece of white card, mat this to the black card, and glue to the card blank.
  • Stamp the quote on a piece of white card using Versafine ink, cut out and mat onto black card, and attach to the centre of the card using foam pads.

Hi everyone, I wanted to make a really colourful card this week and thought rainbow was the way to go.  I decided to use the Dear Mum set of stamps by Imagine Design Create.  Now even though this set is titled ‘Dear Mum’, that doesn’t mean it can’t be used to create cards for other people – the card I have designed below is suitable for male and female, and for young or old alike.

What you need to make this card

How to make this card
  • Take the smallest white square of card and stamp the sentiment in each colour of Distress Ink from top to bottom down the centre.
  • Take the remaining squares and blend a different Distress Ink around each one.
  • Mat each square on to the next size, and glue all to the card blank.

That’s my project complete for this week, if you have any questions or comments please do get in touch.  If you're looking for some more inspirational ways to use these fabulous stamps then pop over to the Imagine Design Create blog.

Imagine Design Create DT Post - Flamingo Fun Twisted Easel card

Hi everyone, for this week’s Imagine Design Create DT project I got to play with the fabulous Flamingo Fun stamp set… I love it!  This stamp just screamed to be coloured in hot pink, and that’s exactly what I did.  I wanted to make an easel card this week as I wanted to show the Pastel Paradise papers off in the best way I could.

What you need –

 What to do –
  • Take the card blank, and score diagonally from the top right corner to the bottom left corner across the front panel.  Cut another piece of white card measuring 6” x 6”, and to this glue a square of pink paper (from the Pastel paper pad) matted on to hot pink paper.  Tie some ribbon around the left hand side, and add a bow.  Take this panel and glue it to the easel mechanism, only add glue to the bottom triangle so that the card will open and close properly.
  • Cut some yellow paper from the paper pad and mat this on to some hot pink paper, and glue this to the inside of the card blank.
  • Use Versafine ink to stamp the Flamingo, and colour in (I used my Kuretake pens but similar looks could be achieved using other mediums).  Use a circle die to cut it out, and mat onto a larger circle of hot pink paper.  Glue this to the front of the easel card.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Picked Raspberry, and cut out using a circle die.  Blend some Picked Raspberry around the edges, and attach to the inside of the easel card using foam pads (position this wherever you like as this will be the part which holds your easel open)

I hope you like my design using these new stamps, they’re great fun and I’d love to see what you make with them too.  Remember to pop over to the Imagine Design Create blog to see some more inspirational makes by my team mates.

Imagine Design Create DT post - Fly Free

For this weeks DT project for Imagine Design Create I am again using the fabulous Fly Free stamp set, and having been inspired by the lovely Claire and one of her cards, I wanted to use yellow and grey as my main colours.

What you need to make this card

How to make this card
  • Cut a square of white card smaller than the card blank, and another 2 slightly smaller than this.
  • Use the Distress Inks to randomly stamp feathers over one entire white square, ensure you go off the edges to get a uniform look.  Take the other 2 squares and blend Mustard Seed DI around the edges of the smaller one, and Hickory Smoke DI around the edges of the larger one.  Glue the yellow to the grey, and glue both to the card blank.
  • Use Hickory Smoke to stamp the ‘fly free’ on spare white card, and cut out using the tag die.
  • Tie some grey organza ribbon around the right hand side of the card, and tie on both the tags, use a few small foam pads to secure the tags to the card.
  • Glue this piece to the card blank.

That's another project completed for this week, if you'd like to see some more ways to use these fab stamps then pop over to the Imagine Design Create blog to see what my teamies have been up to.

I'll be back next week to share another project with you all.

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Lustre Luxe Serendipity

Hi bloggers, time for me to share another DT project for Bee Crafty on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog.  I've got the Lustre Luxe out again to make this card, and I love how the Sea Green Lustre Luxe looks with the Picked Raspberry Distress ink.

What you need to make this card

What to do -
  • Cut 2 pieces of white card smaller than the card blank.  Take the largest and blend Picked Raspberry around the edges, and mat this on to some black card and glue to the card blank.
  • Take the other piece of white card and emboss the oval lattice pattern on it.  Use blending foam to apply Sea Green Lustre Luxe then mat it on to card blank.  Use foam pads to attach this to the card blank.
  • On spare white card use Versafine to stamp butterflies and a sentiment.  Cut the sentiment out, add some Picked Raspberry to it and mat on to black card.  Glue to the card.
  • Add some colour to the butterflies using a water brush and the Lustre Luxe and Distress ink. Glue to the card.
That's my project finished for this week, I'll be back next Monday with another new project for you.

Hunkydory DT samples - Cards made with Baroque Backgrounds & Beautiful Blooms stamps

Hi bloggers, so along with the fabulous new Rose Gold Moments kit just released by Hunkydory, there are 3 new stamp sets released too... and as always they are stunning!  I got to play with the Baroque Backgrounds and Beautiful Blooms sets and here are the designs I came up with.

White 6" x 6" card, background created by stamping the square in both Worn Lipstick & Peeled Paint Distress Oxide.

White 7" x 7" card.  I stamped roses over a piece of pink paper from the kit and cut them out, then glued these to a square of white card.  I added a stamped sentiment, and matted and layered before gluing to the card blank.

6" x 4" card.  I stamped the sentiment down the left hand side using Versafine ink, matted on to black card and glued to the card blank.  I stamped 2 roses on to spare card, added some colour using my Kuretake pens (050, 047), cut them out and used foam pads to attach to the card.

5" x 5" card.  I stamped some flowers in the bottom left corner using Versafine ink and added some colour using my Kuretake pens (083, 052, 026), I then cut out a circle aperture using a circle die.  I stamped a sentiment on a square of yellow paper from the kit, and matted both on to some black card.  This was glued to the card blank, and I finished by adding some lilac gems.

6" x 4" card.  I created a background using my Distress Oxide inks (Worn Lipstick, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade) and added a stamped sentiment and a stamped section of the mandala.

6" x 6" card, I created the block of colour on the card by smooshing some Cracked Pistachio Distress ink on to an acrylic block, spritzing with water and pressing on to the card.  I stamped various images using Versafine ink, and added some gems.  I finished by doing some matting and layering before gluing to the card.

5" x 5" card.  I stamped the background using Peacock Feathers & Picked Raspberry Distress inks, added a strip of card with a stamped sentiment and finished by attaching some black flowers cut out using the Marvellous Mandala die set.

I really enjoyed playing with these stamps and I'll definitely be making some more cards using these.  Until next time, happy crafting!

Hunkydory Samples - Rose Gold Moments boxed card and faux book

Hi bloggers, for my second blog post using the gorgeous Rose Gold Moments kit by Hunkydory I am sharing how I made this boxed card and faux book...

I cut some white card to 8.25" x 8.25" and using my Adorable Scoreboard I scored all round at 1" - remembering to use the left side for the lid and the right side for the base.  I matted a square of paper onto some rose gold mirri and glued this to the box lid, cut out an aperture using a circle die, then made up my lid.  I then added a square of foiled acetate to the inside of the lid, and finished by adding some gems.  I made up the box base, then adhered a square of paper to the inside.

Box open with card on the top.

6" x 6" card decorated using a square of the gorgeous card in this kit matted onto some rose gold mirri card, and finished by attaching a topper with some foam pads and some gems.

The front of my faux book.

The back of my faux book.

The inside of my faux book - you can see the birdcage cut from some rose gold mirri using the Beautiful Birdcage die set, and some flowers from the Marvellous Mandalas die set.

Closer view of the die cut elements.

To create the faux book -
  • Cut some card to measure 9.5" x 5.25", and place this landscape and score at 4.25" and 5.25".  This will be the book cover.
  • To create the book frame cut 2 pieces of card at 4" x 6", and 5" x 6".  Score both landscape at 1", 2", 3", 4", and 5".  Flip this over and score at 0.5", 1.5", 2.5", 3.5", 4.5" and 5.5".  Burnish the folds well to ensure crisp folds.
  • I decorated the front and inner cover using papers from the kit.  I then made the frame up by gluing the concertina sections together to form a rectangle, then inked around the edges using Tattered Rose Distress ink.  The frame was attached to the inner cover (right hand side) using glue.
  • I die cut some flowers, leaves, birds, butterflies and a birdcage from some Rose Gold mirri card using the new dies.
  • The birdcage was glued to the concertina section of the frame so it looked like it was floating, and I used glue to attach the other elements.
This stunning kit makes creating pieces like this so easy, and enjoyable.

I'll be back soon to share the cards I made using the new stamp sets that have just been released too. If you have any questions or comments please do get in touch as I love to her from you.

Hugs, Lorre-Anne x
