Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Distress Oxide flower

Hi everyone, I'm back with my usual Monday Bee Crafty blog post and for this week's DT project I'm sharing a card I made using 2 colours of Distress Oxide and some black ink.

What you need -
What to do -
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Smoosh some oxides on to a blending mat, spritz with water and drag the white square through it.  Dry with a heat tool, spritz with water and repeat until desired look is achieved.
  • Take the lily stamp and spritz with water, stamp this onto the card and hold for a minute or two.  When you remove you should have a pale impression of the stamp, dry using a heat tool then restamp over this using Versafine ink.... this gives a really subtle effect to the finished image.
  • Use Versafine to stamp the sentiment in the top corner.
  • Blend some Spiced Marmalade through the dots randomly over the card.  Mat this on to the black, and glue to the card blank.

That's my project finished for this week, I'll be back next week to share another with you all.  Remember to pop over to the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog to see the beautiful creations my teammates have been making.

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Texture Borders Hochanda Samples

Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend?  For my Bee Crafty blog post this week I'm sharing the samples I made for Sams recent Hochanda shows using the gorgeous new Texture Borders and Circles.

Distress Oxides (Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Wild Honey)  I created my background by smooshing some Oxides mixed with water over my card, and drying with my heat tool.  I then stamped various borders and circles using Wilted Violet Oxide, and finished by adding the 3 stamped words.  I added some glitter using my Start Dust Stickles.

Simple Monochrome card made by stamping with Onyx Black Versafine ink, and layering up white and black card.

Distress Oxides (Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry).  Repeated stamping of the border in alternating colours, and I stamped the word then chopped it into 3 before matting on to black card.

Distress Oxides (Cracked Pistachio & Salty Ocean).  I stamped the circles in both colours of Oxide and added the stamped word.

Brushos (Ost.Blue & Brilliant Red)  Distress Oxides (Candied Apple & Faded Jeans) Onyx Black Versafine ink.  I sprinkled Brushos over a piece of card, spritzed with water and dried using a heat tool.  I then stamped the borders using both colours of Oxide, then stamped the words using Versafine ink.

Distress Oxides (Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans & Broken China)  I stamped the border all over the card, distressed the edges then glued to the card blank.  I then stamped 3 circles in each colour, and cut out using a die.  I stamped the word Dream on a strip of card, distressed the edges before gluing to the card blank.  I used foam pads to adhere the circles.

Distress Oxides (Peeled Paint & Wild Honey)  Onyx Black Versafine ink.  I stamped Create using Wild Honey down the centre of the card, then blended some Peeled Paint through the Stars Dinkable , and blended some Peeled Paint around the edges of the card.  I matted this on to black card and glued to the card blank.  I stamped Art using Versafine ink, and cut out using a circle die, then blended some Peeled Paint around the edges.  These circles were attached using foam pads, and I highlighted some areas of the letters and stars using a white gel pen.

Onyx Black Versafine ink, Distress Oxides (Spiced Marmalade & Peacock Feathers).  I blended both colours through the Dots and Cracked Glass Dinkables randomly before stamping the words using Versafine ink.  I finished by stamping the borders at either edge of the card, then matted on to black card before adhering to the card blank.

MDF artboard, Lustre Luxe (Moonstone & Lavender Quartz) Onyx Black Versafine ink, Hearts Dinkable.

These new stamps are really amazing, and are going to be great not only for cards and home decor projects but also for art journalling!  If you pop over to the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog you will see what my talented team mates have been creating.

Happy Crafting!

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Memories

Hi everyone, it's Monday so it's time for me to share another Bee Crafty DT project with you all, and I'm still playing with my Steampunk stamps that I bought in the fabulous bundle Bee Crafty had on offer last year.  I wanted to use the camera this time, and thought the Memories stamp would go really well with this, and as it's a camera I wanted to make it look like it was being viewed through a lens!

Materials
What to do
  • Cut brown card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Take the Distress Inks and smoosh them on to a blending mat and spritz with water, drag the white card through it and dry with a heat tool.
  • Next randomly stamp the Retro Dash & Dots over the card, then place the Inkables template in the centre and blend through some Walnut Stain ink to create the illusion of a lens.
  • Stamp the camera in the centre of the circle using Walnut Stain Oxide.
  • Finish by inking up the word Memories from the Best thing about memories stamp, and stamp this under the camera.
  • Mat this card to the brown card, and glue both to the card blank.
I'm really enjoying playing with these Steampunk Stories stamps and you're bound to see lots more cards from me using them.  If you pop over to the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog you will see what my teammates have been getting up to.

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Distress Oxide Ground Elder

Hi bloggers, for my Bee Crafty DT project this week I got to play with some new stamps I recently purchased, and of course my gorgeous Distress Oxides... I honestly have so much fun playing with these and trying to come up with beautiful backgrounds.  I really like the look I achieved using the 2 colours below, and think it really works well with the black wildflowers.

What you will need -

What to do -

  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Take the oxides and smoosh them on a blending mat, spritz with water and drag the white card through it.  Dry with a heat tool, then repeat - occasionally flicking water droplets until you achieve the look you want.
  • Stamp the ground elder using Versafine ink, then heat emboss using clear embossing powder.
  • Repeat this with the sentiment.
  • Use Wilted Violet oxide ink to stamp the style wire border.
  • Mat this on to the black card, and glue to the card blank.
If you are looking for some other fun ways to use these fab stamps then head on over to the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog to see what my team mates have been up to.
